What is Preventative Maintenance?
A proactive approach to building maintenance, that aims to reduce the occurrence of issues or deterioration in a building. It involves planned (and regular) inspections, repairs, and upkeep of a building and its components in order to prevent problems before they become more serious and costly.

This would be important for a number of reasons:
